Our group was asked to do a short video for practice, which would help us lead to our main task. A maximum of 2 minutes was allowed for the footage.
We started our preliminary task by planning ideas and applying it to our storyboard. We used different shots which included close up, extreme close up, long shot, medium shot, high angle shot, low angle shot, 180 degree rule, side shot, shot reverse shot and over the shoulder shot.

Our short clip was based upon a interview between the police woman (higher status) with the defendant (lower status), however in this scene the defendant is shown to be more dominated than the police woman, this is because laughs continuously at the questions asked upon him making the police woman feel inferior to him.

The 180 degree rule could’ve been improved if the camera was steadier and less shaky. This was difficult to do as we had to walk with the camera around a large table so we could not use the tripod. Our favourite shot of the clip was the high angle mid shot as this showed all the characters involved in the scene. In this shot the police women is trying to get answers from the defendant but he is reluctant to say anything. This showed juxtaposition between the police woman and the murderer because ironically the murderer who is supposedly shown to be inferior dominates the scene with his attitude and sarcasm.
